I've lived on Long Island most of my life, and moved to the north shore about five years ago. I often passed Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and was intrigued by the work being done there. I thought the setting was like a little jewel on the harbor. I'm thrilled to be here now.
I returned to work when my children (daughter and son) were young and I've worked in the travel, cable television and publishing industries. In the recent past I had my own business creating and implementing designer wall finishes. One of my more interesting projects was replicating a wall finish for the lobby of the Cherry Lane Theater in Greenwich Village in time for their 75th anniversary celebration in 1999.
I'm currently studying for my B.S. in holistic nutrition and recently attained my Reiki master degree. Believing all living creatures deserve to share this planet in peace and harmony I became a vegetarian five years ago. Really, it's not hard - you should try it. I was very happy to learn that Leonardo daVinci was also a "veggie." Watercolor is also a passion of mine and I've been fortunate enough to be able to take classes with several local accomplished artists.
What I've seen and experienced here so far at the Dolan DNA Learning Center makes me very grateful to be a part of it.
